House Democrats Praise Trooper Pay Raises, Disaster Relief Funding

House Democrats

House Democrats will work with Gov. Fallin and state Republican leaders to ensure critical funding reaches our citizens and first responders in a timely manner after this week’s natural disasters around Oklahoma, Democratic Leader Scott Inman, D-Del City, said.

Using the state’s overflowing Rainy Day Fund for disaster relief is a proper use of the emergency fund, said Leader Inman.
Additionally, House Democrats are relieved state troopers will receive a much-needed pay raise.

“House Democrats were excited to learn the Republican leaders had finally agreed to fund a trooper pay raise,” said Leader Inman. “Democrats have called upon the governor and Republican leaders to do this all session long. And while it is unfortunate that it took a natural disaster to make properly funding our public safety officers a priority, we are nevertheless thrilled to know that our brave men and women serving on the front lines of public safety will get the pay raise they deserve.”
