Porter Davis: Gerhart ‘Not one of us…(we) want him gone yesterday’

Well-known Libertarian conservative and ardent Ron Paul supporter Porter Davis of Oklahoma City said today that the Ron Paul campaign’s state coordinator, Al Gerhart, “is not one of us.”

Davis, posting on a conservative website, was discussing the controversy over the seating of Paul delegates during the recent Oklahoma County GOP Convention. Gerhart, who heads the Sooner Tea Party, was prominent during the meeting.

Davis, a respected former Republican State House member and GOP National Convention delegate, is among those pushing the Ron Paul agenda.

However, he wrote that the controversial Gerhart, known as “The Great Offender,” “is not one of us and was imposed on us despite our many objections. We all want him gone yesterday.”

Gerhart’s tenure as Paul’s leader in Oklahoma has been marked by controversy, name-calling, threats and intimidation. Calls for his removal have come from some who say he is doing more harm than good.
