An hour-long tornado that may have been an F-5 ravaged the suburb of Moore Monday afternoon, killing at least 24 adults and children. Confusion resulted in a death toll of 91 earlier; it was revised downward by the medical examiner Tuesday morning. The toll, however, likely will increase. The tornado was reported to be more than a mile wide at one time. It took almost exactly the same path taken by the May 3, 1999 killer tornado.
Two elementary schools were badly damaged. One witness said children were trapped inside one demolished school building.

The damage path is being estimated as covering 30 square miles.
The National Weather Service reports winds topped 200 MPH.
