Pruitt Announces Law Enforcement Grants

Attorney General Scott Pruitt Wednesday announced the state’s new local law enforcement grant program to help reduce violent crime in Oklahoma communities.

The recipients of the 2013 Attorney General’s Safe Oklahoma Grants are the Oklahoma City Police Department, the Tulsa Police Department, the Lawton Police Department, the Ada Police Department, the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. violent crime in Oklahoma and an attitude that we are going to be the safest state in America; to set that goal and pursue it.”

The new grant program funds local law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma to increase their capacity to respond to violent crime in their communities. As provided by law, law enforcement agencies can utilize funds to reduce violent crime through priority strategies such as targeted staffing, increased technology and better analytical capability.
