‘Twists and turns’ Cause Brogdon To Change Course; Plans Senate Filing

Staff

With the changing political landscape, It’s musical chairs again for former Senator Randy Brogdon.

An arch-conservative and John Birch Society member, Brogdon worked for the insurance commissioner, then started running for governor, but is now emailing his friends announcing he’ll file paperwork to be a candidate for the U.S. Senate.
He’s seeking donations in his email, where he says he wants his friends to be the first to know.
Brogdon wrote “the last several weeks have produced a number of unexpected twists and turns in the political landscape in Oklahoma.”
“After informing friends on Christmas that I was planning a run for governor in 2014, I began working to assemble a statewide campaign organization toward that end.
“As I was assembling my campaign team, Tom Coburn announced he was resigning from the U.S. Senate two years before the end of his term.”
Thus, Brogdon appears to be in for the Senate. He joins former Speaker T.W. Shannon and Congressman James Lankford in the race.

geez – I can feel that burning passion to become a member of the US Senate from you Mr Brogdon. of course until another position becomes available. And Dr Coburn announced in mid January, “the last several weeks”? I like Randy but this is Busch League.

Every candidate in this race changed their mind about which seat to seek. TW and Lankford were running for offices other than US Senate too. Brogdon should not be criticized for doing the same. Conditions changer and decisions change too.
