Some critics of Republican Party Chairman Randy Brogdon and his embattled political director, TC Ryan, are trying to make the likelihood that Senator Ted Cruz won’t attend a Party fundraiser tonight is a result of the Ryan controversy.
Sources here, and in Washington, tell The McCarville Report that simply is not true.
Scheduling of today’s votes in the U. S. Senate on the Patriot Act, discussion on which likely will last into the night and perhaps even into Saturday, was beyond the control of Cruz, or any other senator.
Cruz has canceled planned appearances before the State Senate Republican Caucus and a joint session of the Legislature, but Brogdon and others are optimistic he will be able to hop a private jet and make it to Oklahoma City at the last minute. Workers at the SRLC, however, are telling attendees he will not attend.
