Fallin Announces Education Appointments

Governor’s Office

Governor Fallin today announced the following appointments to education-related boards. All of the following appointees received Senate confirmation during the 2015 Legislative Session:

Northern Oklahoma College Board of Regents

Stanley Brownlee, of Enid, is replacing Lynn Smith and will serve a five-year term beginning July 1. Brownlee is a consultant at Wymer Brownlee, a financial services company. He previously served as president of the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce, president of the board of directors at St. Mary’s Hospital, chairman of the joint industrial foundation and chairman of the board of directors of the Hedges Regional Speech and Hearing Center. Brownlee hosts an academic quiz bowl for students in fourth through sixth grades and tutors at the Carver Early Childhood Center. He is a member of the Enid Public School Hall of Fame. Brownlee received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Murray State College Board of Regents

Steven Jolly, of Sulphur, is replacing Shari Williams, who resigned. He is serving the remainder of her term, which ends June 1, 2016. Jolly is the district manager of the Arbuckle Master Conservancy District. He is a current member of the Red River Valley Association in Shreveport, La. Jolly received an associate’s degree from Murray State College.

Redlands Community College Board of Regents

Juanita Krittenbrink, of Okarche, is replacing Tracey Wills, who resigned, and will serve the remainder of the term ending April 22, 2018. Krittenbrink is the former division director for liberal studies and management sciences at Redlands Community College. She previously served as president for the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges. She is a Da Vinci Institute board member and a Redlands Community College Curriculum Committee faculty association administrative staff member. Krittenbrink received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and a doctorate degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Murray State College Board of Regents

Allen Benson, of Ardmore, has been reappointed for a seven-year term. He provides supervision, technical support and training to the maintenance department at the Michelin North America tire plant in Ardmore. He received a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University.

Oklahoma City Community College Board of Regents

Devery Youngblood, of Yukon, has been reappointed to a seven-year term. He is the community affairs manager for the Chickasaw Nation. Youngblood currently serves on the board of advisors for the University of Oklahoma College of Public Health and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the board of directors for the Norman Chamber of Commerce; the Norman United Way; the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation; and the Yukon Public School Foundation. Youngblood received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Nazarene University.

Carl Albert State College Board of Regents

Belva Barber, of Poteau, has been reappointed to serve a seven-year term. She is a partner in the law firm of Barber & Barber, P.C. She is a trustee on the Carl Albert State College Development Foundation. Barber previously served as an adjunct professor of business law at Carl Albert State College. She received a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a law degree from the University of Tulsa.

Redlands Community College Board of Regents

Janie Thompson, of Yukon, is replacing Travis Ketter and will serve a seven-year term. Thompson is the physician programs coordinator for the Physician Manpower Training Commission. She previously served as assistant principal and as a social studies curriculum coordinator at Putnam City Schools as an adjunct history professor at Redlands Community College. Thompson received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Western Oklahoma State College Board of Regents

Thomas Northrip Sr., of Granite, is replacing Steve Miller and will serve a seven-year term. Northrip is a self-employed certified public accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. He received a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Eastern Oklahoma State College Board of Regents

Bobby Mouser, of Stigler, is replacing Burl Williams and will serve a seven-year term. Mouser is the Stigler city manager. He previously served as the director of customer services and marketing for the Public Service Company of Oklahoma. He received a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Seminole State College Board of Regents

Raymond McQuiston, of Ada, is replacing Marilyn Bradford and will serve a seven-year term. McQuiston is the distribution center manager for VF Jeanswear, Inc. He currently serves as chairman of the board of trustees at Seminole State College and chairman of the board of directors at the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum. McQuiston previously served in the Navy from 1987 to 1992 and received two Navy Achievement Medals, a Navy Commendation Medal, a National Defense Service Medal; two Coast Guard Special Operations Ribbons and a Good Conduct Medal. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler.

Rose State College Board of Regents

John Lyttle, of Midwest City, is replacing Aaron Corwin and will serve a seven-year term. Lyttle is the director of engineering at Boeing. He previously served on the board of directors for the Metro Technology Center Foundation. Lyttle received a bachelor’s degree from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.

Tulsa Community College Board of Regents

Bill McKamey, of Tulsa, is being reappointed to the board and will serve a seven-year term. He is the former vice president of external affairs for the Public Service Company of Oklahoma. McKamey currently serves on the board of directors of the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals and for the University Center at Tulsa. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
