Noted Quote: Black Pastors Oppose Gay Marriage Ruling, Urge Disobedience

Stacy Swimp, of the National Coalition of Black Pastors, and Bill Owens, president of the Coalition of African-American Pastors, are standing against the recent Supreme Court ruling that legalizes gay marriage in all 50 states, and now they’re urging the members of their organizations toward acts of civil disobedience.

“The Supreme Court has gone rogue,” declared Swimp. “It created a new law, instead of interpreting the laws. I fear and tremble for my country. The future of America looks bleak right now. Now is a time for civil disobedience. Civil clerks who have a Christian conscience should refuse to marry two people of the same gender. They should be willing to disobey the law, even if that means we go to jail or be fined.”
