finger~ Celebrating victories is an accepted practice in life and in campaigns. Sometimes, those celebrating reveal their own venality and coarseness. Such is exemplified in this photo of a female gay rights activist in the White House giving a portrait of President Reagan the finger (she was one of several to do so) after the U. S. Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage and subsequent victory party in the White House hosted by the Obamas.

~ In a story below, Pam Pollard shares word of an event honoring longtime GOP booster/activist James Cruson. He and his wife, Wanda, have been GOP staples in the Madill area for decades. Saddened to learn of his illness.

~ Few events have stirred a firestorm like the Oklahoma Supreme Court’s ruling banning the 10 Commandments from the Capitol grounds. Those on both sides are adamant, heavy with praise and damning with criticism. The ban seems a stretch to me. Count on much more controversy on this one.

~ Remember you read it here: All things being equal, put Senator James Lankford down as a dark horse candidate for president in 2020. He’ll likely be startled to read this, but some of his friends already are beating that drum. Lankford has proven adroit in the political arena since bursting onto it with his surprising victory in his first congressional race a few years back.
