~ Insanity: (AP) The final judgment has come in for Aaron and Melissa Klein, the Gresham, Oregon, bakers who had been found guilty of discriminating against a lesbian couple by refusing to bake them a wedding cake. They’ve been ordered to pay $135,000 to make up for the emotional damage they caused by telling this couple no.
~ If that from Oregon isn’t enough, the state is now moving to levy a per-miles-driven tax on vehicles.
~ Government cannot mandate personal behavior. So why does it, at all levels, keep trying to do so?
~ Oklahoma County Treasurer Forrest “Butch” Freeman was sworn in yesterday by Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Noma Gurich. Standing next to Freeman is his wife, Bobbie. This is Freeman’s seventh time to take the oath of office in Oklahoma County. He was first elected in a special election in 1993, then was re-elected in 1994. 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014.
