Inhofe Aide Announces For State House

martinezRyan Martinez announced today that he will be a Republican candidate in House District 39.

Martinez, an aide to U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe, said he will focus his campaign on quality education and supporting business policies that lead to jobs and prosperity.

“As a first-generation college graduate, I am a firm believer in the American dream, and that’s why I’m a conservative and believe it deeply in my heart.

“Oklahoma needs to boldly move forward to improve results in education and continue to invest in transportation,
but then government needs to get out of the way and let individuals create prosperity through hard work and
ingenuity.

“Oklahoma has to improve its education system by increasing standards and demanding results. We need
consolidation of administration in education, higher standards, less testing, more teaching, and meritorious pay
increases for teachers” Martinez said.

“First and foremost, our state government should be managed like a business”, Martinez said. He describes himself
as a Constitutional conservative and believes common sense should guide state policy.
The seat, which is being vacated by Marian Cooksey, is primarily in west Edmond.

“Representative Cooksey has
served our district with distinction, and has represented our values from the heart. She will be sorely missed at
the Capitol.”

Martinez has worked previously as the Director of Leadership for Oklahoma Speaker of the House T.W. Shannon,
was executive director of the Republican State House Committee, field representative for the Oklahoma Republican
Party and was campaign manager to state Senator Greg Treat.

He and his wife, Katie, have been married for six years. Martinez, who is a first generation college graduate,
worked two jobs to put himself through college debt-free. Ryan is a former executive in the hospitality industry
where he managed large staffs and budgets before moving to Oklahoma when Katie went to work for the
Tealridge retirement community on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University.

Ryan and Katie have spent
countless hours serving and assisting the elderly throughout the region.
Martinez also has owned his own public relations consulting business. Ryan and Katie are active members at
Memorial Road Church of Christ.
