Dear OKGOP Executive and State Committee Members,
The OKGOP Central Committee has received official notice that Chairman Randy Brogdon has resigned, effective September 10, 2015. We thank Chairman Brogdon for his time of service and wish him well in his future endeavors.
According to the OKGOP Rules (Rule 10 (i)) to fill a vacancy of the State Chairman, a special State Committee Meeting must be called within 60 days, with 30 days advanced notice to the State Committee Members.
There will not be a meeting on September 12.
Upon the resignation becoming effective and Executive Committee approval, we anticipate announcing the State Committee special meeting date for October 10, 2015 at 9:00 am (registration at 8:30) in Oklahoma City. A more formal announcement will be forthcoming upon the vacancy becoming actionable.
Vice Chairman Estela Hernandez will serve as Interim Chairman from the resignation date until the State Committee fills the vacancy; former Chairman Matt Pinnell will lead the special meeting with assistance from legal counsel.
Immediately following the special meeting there will be a “tailgate” lunch and unity fundraiser. The cost and menu are TBD.
