Fallin Wants Regent Ousted

Governor Fallin wants a college regent ousted.

OK Energy Today reports:

Governor Mary Fallin is worried about claims made against former Choctaw Electric Cooperative general manager Terry Matlock in Hugo. And for good reason. He was fired 11 months ago after allegedly using cooperative funds to buy himself a $2 million retirement annuity.
What concerns the governor is that Matlock is also a regent with the Regional University System of Oklahoma. So she recently wrote Attorney General Scott Pruitt asking him to conduct an investigation.
“My office has been briefed on the internal investigation and audit findings of the Choctaw Electric Cooperative and I have serious concerns regarding Mr. Matlock’s fitness for continued service as a Regent,” wrote the Governor in her Aug. 31 letter. “Oklahoma has a high standard for public service as reflected in the ability to impeach even our highest officials for ‘any offense involving moral turpitude committed while in office.'”
The governor wants a criminal probe, asking Scott Pruitt to begin the investigation.

“And if on such investigation, you determine that cause exists, institute such legal proceedings as are proper to indict Mr. Matlock and/or to oust him from office,” she concluded.
