Legislators: Keep Your Eyes On Lake Texoma Settlement Deal

Reps. Tommy Hardin and Dustin Roberts and Senator Josh Brecheen commented  today on the Lake Texoma settlement:

“Almost two years after the board members of the Oklahoma Commissioners of the Land Office voted to sue Pointe Vista Development for failed contract compliance, a settlement has been reached. Many of us had concerns this lawsuit would go on for years thus further delaying development at Lake Texoma, with a settlement being reached it will allow plans to be implemented.

“With that said, as area representatives we learned about the settlement ending the lawsuit and the specifics of the new deal only moments before the press release went out informing the public. As we were told of the deal, there are aspects of the negotiated settlement that are promising and some that are concerning. Without a vote, our only course of action at this point is to closely monitor the progress of the CLO and Tourism to ensure that they are progressing as rapidly as possible on their areas. We will at a minimum be requesting quarterly updates on their progress.

“After years spent in the negative, we hope to turn the page and concentrate on the positive.”
