Senator Kyle Loveless issued a statement today to The McCarville Report about his wife’s arrest over the weekend.
“Summer and I both regret this incident. We both have deep respect for Oklahoma’s law enforcement and the tough job they have, and we know no one, not even a State Senator or his family, is above the law.
“Summer vented on her personal Facebook page but then deleted the post soon after.
“We recently had our second child and, like many new mothers, my wife is battling postpartum depression. She is sorry for the incident and has been seeking treatment.
“This has been a difficult time for both of us but it will not affect my work on the much more important issues facing Oklahoma.”
In an earlier note, Loveless said his wife’s arrest was in no way related to his sponsorship of a civil asset forfeiture reform bill, which is opposed by many in law enforcement
