Governor Names Oklahoma Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board Administrator

10-7-15 Gary McDonaldGovernor Fallin on Wednesday named a replacement for the administrator of the Oklahoma Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board. Gary McDonald will replace Bill Glass, who is retiring after 19 years in the position. McDonald will serve on an interim basis until he receives the required Senate confirmation.
McDonald is no stranger to the liquefied petroleum gas segment. He has served as safety code enforcement officer for the Oklahoma Liquefied Petroleum Gas Administration since 1988. He also worked for nearly 20 years for several oilfield-related companies.

“Gary McDonald is an expert on the LP gas industry who will bring a fresh perspective and energy to the board,” said Fallin. “I know Gary is excited to pursue improvements that increase efficiency and allow the board to better serve the industry and the public.”

McDonald was selected from a list of nominees submitted by the Oklahoma Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board.

McDonald has plans to bring the board from a paper-based system to an electronic system.

“This would include all permit applications and renewals, all permit testing, all truck and storage inspections and other data as needed,” said McDonald, who also wants to develop specific times and places for permit testing to save mileage, time and expense. Other plans include creating a website for the agency.
