GOP Official Robert Hubbard: Cole, Lucas ‘Disgrace’

Robert Hubbard, the Republican Party’s 3rd District chairman who failed in his bid to be elected party chairman, has attacked two of the state’s GOP congressmen, including his own in the 3rd District.

Writing on Facebook, Hubbard said, “Tom Cole and Frank Lucas are a disgrace to the people of Oklahoma. Anyone that votes to give Obama a blank check doesn’t deserve any respect from the supposed reddest state.”

And then he adds, “It’s good that I wasn’t elected state chair. I don’t deal well with those who sell us down the river.

Hubbard, who was backed by the “grassroots” element of the party, has been a longtime GOP worker.

TMR has asked GOP Chair Pam Pollard for comment on Hubbard’s remarks.

    Couldn’t agree more.

Actually, there are several other ‘good things’ about him not being elected.

I’ve pretty much given up on voting in federal elections, however, I always vote for whom ever is running against Frank even when that means voting for a Democrat. In fact, if Nancy Pelosi moved to Woodward and ran against Frank I’d have to vote for her if there wasn’t an independent running. I fully understand that Nancy is a Marxist, but she is honest about it. Frank claims to be a small government, conservative Republican, but isn’t.

Both that vote and Tuesdays vote to re-open the Ex-Im Bank (which mainly subsidizes GE and Boeing) were blatant abuses of taxpayer money.

Rick, certainly understand the crony capitalism point. You might check the net cost of this program to taxpayers and the number of large company v. small company participants. What’s troubling is that large companies take a greater percentage share of the money…probably because they are large companies and their financing needs are greater. Another puzzle for me is the fact that “not so capitalistic countries” subsidize their companies much more than we do in the US. Regrettably, it leaves us open to the “we need this program to compete” argument. When we don’t provide a company in Shawnee, OK access to X-M then that company would argues jobs are lost.

The last available numbers I found on Ex-Im were from a George Mason University study on 2013 loan guarantees. GE got $8B. Boeing got $1.5B. All others combined got $2.5B. These companies say they can’t compete without it. What they really mean is they don’t want to pay the interest rates the financiers require for the risk these companies are exposing them to. So our leaders, in their questionable wisdom, use our money to finance risky endeavors for the most powerful companies.

A woman stood up during Tom Cole’s town hall meeting and asked, “Is there anyone to run against this guy?”. Now, I completely understand her thinking.

  8. Jerry Billingsley, 30 October, 2015

Amen! Hopefully, the conservatives in our district can find someone to oppose Cole next time around. I don’t know whether a conservative can actually be elected in Norman, but I’d sure like to give it a try!

The same can be said of you when the people removed you from Piedmont city council and refused your attempt to get back on

Was Russel too busy to vote in this all important issue? Cole and Lucas are a disgrace indeed. They are are Republicans but they sure love those ag subsidies.
