Lankford Chosen As CPAC Speaker

Senator James Lankford has been chosen as a key speaker at this year’s Conservative Political Action Committee meeting.

“Senator James Lankford is a conservative leader who understands what is at stake, who stands for principle and works toward conservative solutions that provide opportunities for all Americans. We are honored that he will be a part of this year’s CPAC,” said American Conservative Union (ACU) Chairman Matt Schlapp.

“CPAC is a vital part of the national debate on conservative solutions, and I am honored to be a part of the conversation,” said Lankford. “Conservative solutions work for every city and farm, with every ethnicity, in every economic situation for every American. Our nation was built upon the value that every person is endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; but some now want to ignore life, limit liberty and control our pursuit of happiness. America is a nation where opportunity is limitless, and the ability of each person to fulfill their dream should not be restrained with excessive government debt, federal regulations, and centralized control. This is ‘Our Time’ to stand for religious liberty, personal freedoms and our families. Let’s help the nation’s leaders remember that we are still a nation of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

Lankford was elected to the Senate in 2014, and previously to the House in 2010. Before coming to Congress, he spent 22 years in fulltime ministry in Oklahoma. During his time in Washington, Lankford has focused on government transparency and waste, religious liberty, the protection of unborn life, and regulatory reform.

CPAC 2016 will be held March 2-5 at the Gaylord Hotel National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. The theme, “Our Time is Now” is taken from a speech by Ronald Reagan.

The ACU would like to extend a special thanks to this year’s CPAC sponsors The National Rifle Association (NRA), The Heritage Foundation, One America News Network (OANN), The Daily Signal, Townhall Media, and Cobalt Media Group.
