ExxonMobil Gives $1.4 Million to Oklahoma Colleges, Universities

ExxonMobil and its employees contributed more than $1.4 million to Oklahoma colleges and universities in 2015 as part of the company’s Foundation Educational Matching Gift Program.

Employees, retirees, directors and surviving spouses gave $374,000 to ten Oklahoma institutions of higher learning. ExxonMobil Foundation matched that by a 3 to 1 ratio for $1.1 million.

While the grants are unrestricted, the ExxonMobil Foundation encourages the universities and colleges to use a portion toward enhancing math and science programs.

“Quality education is the foundation for individual opportunity and economic prosperity,” said Ben Soraci, president of the ExxonMobil Foundation. “We have a long history of supporting education excellence in the country. It’s a shared priority, year after year, with ExxonMobil employees.”

The ExxonMobil Foundation Educational Matching Gift Program gave more than $45.4 million to 850 institutions nationwide.
