Grove Republican Josh Russell is seeking the House District 5 seat and he’s won the endorsement of the Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee.

Russell describes himself and his background:

As a conservative Republican and parent, my primary focus is for parents to choose the best educational option for their children. The decision for education should be at the local level and I will fight to protect this freedom alongside and with my constituents to ensure educational choice remains within the control of the parents.

I support our Second Amendment Rights and will defend the right to bear arms in my district and throughout the State of Oklahoma. I will continue to protect the freedom of worship; which is protected by the Constitution as our freedom of religion. I respect all faiths in our nation and do not feel that anyone has the right to harm or criticize one’s personal relationship with God. As a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, I plan to work at the legislative level to protect the rights of our veterans and defend their dignity at all costs. I respect veterans and plan to ensure loyalty to the benefits they were promised. As a father of two young children, I am an advocate for pro-life decisions regardless of the status of the fetus.

I am also in favor of traditional marriage, that is – one man and one woman. Open communication and strong leadership skills will be used to engage my peers in strengthening our values for our communities and our state. As a small business owner, I support a free enterprise system. I plan to work on legislation that will guarantee the same opportunities my family had during the late 70’s when our business began. Born and raised in Northeastern Oklahoma, I am a graduate of Grove High School and Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College. My wife, Rebekah and I have been married for twelve years and have two children, Kaylee age 10 and Caleb age 8.  Rebekah and I enjoy serving as Children’s Pastors at Grove Christian Center.
