Tax Commission Changes Could Reap Millions In Lost Oil and Gas Taxes for State

If the Legislature gives the Oklahoma Tax Commission the resources it is requesting to enhance the enforcement of gross production taxes, it could mean the state could get millions in tax money either improperly credited to or not collected from the oil and gas industry. The Tulsa World‘s Randy Krehbiel writes the Tax Commissioner believes it could recover $30 million a year if given the staff and software it needs to do the job.
