Challenge to SQ 777 Dismissed

The lawsuit trying to stop State Question 777 to make the November ballot has been thrown out by an Oklahoma County District Judge. The group, Oklahoma Right to Farm praised Judge Patricia Parrish’s decision.

“We are pleased that Judge Parrish recognized that State Question 777 on its face is constitutional. The judicial branch is now allowing Oklahoma voters to decide this important issue on the ballot in November,” said the group in a statement.

“We look forward to continuing our education effort. Oklahomans across the state recognize passage of State Question 777 will provide for food affordability and availability, as well as food security.”

SQ 777 asks voters to limit the power the state legislature has over farming and agriculture. Opposing groups believe it will tie the state up in court if it needed to stop pollution or other hazards due to agriculture.
