Primary Election Profile: Oklahoma Congressional District 3

The Republican challenger faces a major uphill battle to unseat the long tenured and well-funded incumbent in the GOP primary race. Democrats fielded a single candidate who will face the winner of the Republican race in November.

The Republicans – Frank Lucas and Desiree Brown

Lucas first won the CD 3 seat in 2003. His main focus is on agriculture issues which face Oklahoma and the rest of the country’s farmers and ranchers. He’s the first Oklahoman to be elected as Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture and currently serves as on the Committees on Financial Services and Science, Space and Technology.

Brown is a native Oklahoman who considers herself a Constitutional Conservative and an “anti-establishment” candidate. She is married and works with AT&T.

Brown’s campaign website can be found here.

The Democrat – Frankie Robbins

Robbins will face the winner of the Republican primary in November. The Democrat ran against Lucas during the previous election cycle. He was also a single parent for much of the time while raising his two sons. He also has a granddaughter.
