Federal Assistance to Repair Flood Damage on the Way for Six Counties

Federal money will be coming to parts of Oklahoma hit by floods in June. Governor Fallin announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved the aid request to help rebuild infrastructure damaged during the storms and floods.

The counties approved for the federal assistance are Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Garvin, Grady and Stephens counties. Preliminary damage estimates indicate the storm did an estimated $6.7 million in damages and response costs in those counties.

Two people lost their lives during the storms, while nearly 300 homes and businesses were damaged. Roads and bridges were also washed out and became impassable.
