Controversial Paul Blair Tweet Drawing Attention

Paul Blair, candidate for the Senate District 41 seat in Edmond, sent a tweet two years ago that’s drawing attention and being recirculated today.

The tweet cites a National Park Service document that warns against feeding “the animals.”

The tweet notes that 46 million people draw food stamps each year.

Blair adds, “The animals will grow dependent on the handouts, and then they will never learn to take care of themselves.”

Blair faces former Air Force Captain Adam Pugh in the runoff; Pugh was the leader in the primary.

This is unacceptable! Logic and common sense have no place in government!

I don’t see anything wrong with this tweet? Welfare or feeding wildlife to where either groups becoming dependent on handouts are not a good things. The left and rino’s are afraid of Paul and what an excellent, independent senator he would be.

He’s a pastor. My Bible tells me to feed the hungry. I’m not sure what his version says, but most say the same. Blair seldom acts Christian anyway.

The left would love for the Republican party to keep electing candidates like Paul Blair, because it will continue to drive moderates away from the party and reduce its appeal to educated people, ethnic minorities, and people who have reconciled themselves to the reality that homosexuals deserve to be treated like real people.

At the national level, the Republican party is becoming the party of downwardly mobile white men and suburban evangelicals. This is not a winning coalition, which is why we may not see a Republican in the White House for decades. Congrats on destroying a once great political party.

Candidate Paul Blair spoke at the Awakening Conference earlier this year and is quoted as saying the following about the United States Supreme Court: “We are not 320 million people ruled by five nonelected attorneys,” continuing he said, “The federal government does not have the unlimited power, and they do not have the ability to determine the limits of their own power . . .” Mr. Blair speaking about the United States Supreme Court and his disagreement with the SCOTUS decision that Gay Marriages are legal under the US Constitution. Therefore, Mr. Blair’s comments are inflammatory against the very foundation of the Separation of Powers within the federal government that serves as model for the rest of the world. Members of the Supreme Court are appointed by the President and approved by members of Congress. Mr. Blair’s comments demonstrate his failure to understand (or admit) that the SCOTUS does not make laws, the SCOTUS provides interpretation of the laws that the United States Congress “makes.” That is why Congress is referred to as the “legislative branch” and the Supreme Court is referred to as the “judicial branch.” Mr. Blair represents a view of anarchy and incites his listeners to resist the very foundation of our U.S. government. Additionally, Mr. Blair became very concerned when he did not receive a majority vote in the primary election and almost immediately sought sympathy from voters by alleging Mr. Pugh had slandered him through references to KKK. Mr. Blair produced a “blurry” photo prop which did not definitively support Mr. Blair’s claim, but only provided an illusion to insinuate Mr. Blair’s loose claim to distort the campaign of Mr. Pugh. This was clearly an attempt by Mr. Blair to seek a “Sympathy Vote.” Mr. Blair needs to recognize the voters are more intelligent in 2016 and will research candidates more thoroughly and not solely rely on personal endorsements and political side shows. Mr. Blair is intent on providing misdirection in his campaign and does not deserve my vote and he will not receive my vote in this run-off election.

I think Mr. Blair’s tweet about Food Stamps and ‘Feeding the Animals’ is an excellent example to illustrate the problem with a government program out of control and why it is causing more problems instead of helping to fix them. While I would not call Food Stamp recipients ‘animals’ and I’m sure that was not Mr. Blair’s intent, I would agree with the Department of the Interior that the recipients will never learn to take care of themselves. That much has been proven. Instead of falling for this ‘cheap shot’ at Mr. Blair by his opponent, criticizing him for his choice of examples to illustrate a valid point, I would suggest that informed voters acknowledge the truth that Mr. Blair’s example points out about our corrupt and over reaching government while at the same time realizing the lack of credible and meaningful achievements of his opponent, former Air Force Captain Adam Pugh.
