Pruitt, Prater Butt Heads Over Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform

pruittAttorney General Scott Pruitt says the seizure of assets should occur only “post conviction,” thus putting him at odds with Oklahoma County District Attorrney David Prater, who has emerged as the prime defender of the much-criticized practice known as civil asset forfeiture.

Pruitt says the current law is “wrong and flawed.”

    Pruitt is absolutely right that reform needs to occur.. When Canada issued an edict to all of its citizens to avoid traveling to US with large sums of cash because of its civil asset forfeiture laws, that should be red flag to all Americans.
