Griffin Appointed Senate Rural Caucus Chairwoman

Senator A.J. Griffin is taking the chair for the Senate Rural Caucus. Senate President Pro Tempore Mike Schulz made the appointment on Thursday.

“Oklahoma is a great state, and the cities and towns of rural Oklahoma have a lot of assets and resources to offer to help the entire state grow and prosper. Rural Oklahoma faces unique issues, and members of the Rural Caucus do a great job advocating on behalf of their citizens on issues like property rights, agricultural regulations, and natural resource conservation,” said Schulz.

Griffin will replace outgoing Senator Ron Justice as Rural Caucus chair.

“I’m excited and honored to serve as chair of the Rural Caucus. I’m ready to get to work on long-term solutions that will help rural Oklahoma grow and thrive,” said Griffin.

She also serves as chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Services.

“Throughout her time in the Senate, AJ Griffin has proven herself as insightful. She has a tremendous understanding and appreciation for rural Oklahoma and she’ll do an outstanding job representing its interests as chair of the Rural Caucus,” Schulz said.
