School/Construction Zone Cell Phone Ban Failed to Pass Senate

A bill that would have banned the use of cell phones in school zones and highway construction zones met defeat on Thursday. The Tulsa World reports Senate Bill 132 by Senator J.J. Dossett would have exempted hands-free devices and emergency related phone calls. Dossett said he might try to run the bill at a different time.

    The only thing I can take out of the Senate doing the right thing in this case, with a few exceptions, is that they text on their phones while going down the road. It sure is hell is not about Liberty or authority.
