Video: Health Care Provider Group Calls for Cigarette Tax Increase

A group of health care providers is calling for lawmakers to raise its cigarette tax by $1.50 to help pay for health care. The video below provided by MakeOKBetter.org outlines the group’s argument for why the tax increase is needed to keep the state’s system from failing. The speakers include Oklahoma Hospital Association President Craig Jones, OU Medical System CEO Chuck Spicer, and Oklahoma Association of Health Care Providers Nico Gomez.

MakeOkBetter held the press conference Tuesday at the Oklahoma Capitol.
