Oklahoma County Saves More than a Million in Bond Refinancing Move

Oklahoma County will save more than a million dollars thanks to the Board of County Commissioners and County Treasurer Butch Freeman working together to refinance its 2008 Series A General Obligation Bonds.

Oklahoma County has a AA1 rating from Moody’s Investor Services which helped secure the lower rates. The original interest rate was four percent. The new rate is 1.69 percent, saving county taxpayers $1,141,585.

“The positive results of this bond refinancing highlight the County’s sound financial management and its ongoing stewardship of the taxpayers’ interests,” said Freeman.
