House members have until June 9 to submit their ideas for an interim study while the Legislature is out of session.
Once the submissions have been received, Speaker Charles McCall will review the requests and choose them based on merit and committee/staff workloads. Similar requests could be combined into a single study.
McCall will announce the interim studies selected and committee assignments no later than July 7. Most of the time, interim studies are held at the end of summer through fall.
