Task Force Seeks Public Comment Concerning Occupational Licenses on Wednesday

The public will get the opportunity to comment on Oklahoma’s occupational licenses during the Occupational Licensing Task Force hearing on Wednesday. The meeting starts at 9:00 a.m. and begins with presentations meant to explain the impact the state’s methods of licensing touches the justice system, military families and poverty. At 2:00 p.m., the public will get the opportunity to share its thoughts on how to make the system better, what licenses should be eliminated or what licenses are needed.

The meeting is part of the Task Force’s mission to optimize occupational licensing and make the system user friendly for Oklahomans.

Oklahoma Labor Commissioner Melissa Houston is the chair of the Task Force and will provide remarks on the program at 11:15 a.m.

The public meeting will be held in the Senate Assembly Room (Room 535) in the Oklahoma Capitol.
