Russell Noted for Legislative Effectiveness

Congressman Steve Russell has been recognized as one of the most effective lawmakers in Congress according to a study by the Center for Effective Lawmaking. Russell ranks in the top 15 percent in terms of effectiveness as the 43rd most effective Republican lawmaker in the House of Representatives.

The Center for Effective Lawmaking is a joint effort between the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University. The study examines how many bills that a Congressman introduces make it to the President’s desk to become law.

Russell has focused his efforts on saving taxpayer money. He’s known for publishing the Waste Watch which has highlighted more than $300 billion in federal spending he calls wasteful. Russell’s successful bills have saved $4 billion so far. He has more cost cutting measures awaiting action.
