Cigarette Tax on Deck for Special Session

The House and Senate Joint Appropriations and Budget Committees got to work on Tuesday to set up a possible floor vote on a $1.50 cigarette tax to help patch a $215 million budget gap. The Tulsa World’s Randy Krehbiel and Barbara Hoberock write this is the first test of Republican leadership to gain 76 House votes during the special session.
