Budget Agreement Heads to House Floor

The GOP budget agreement passed House and Senate Joint Appropriations and Budget Committees on Tuesday with a House floor vote scheduled for Wednesday. The Tulsa World‘s Barbara Hoberock writes House Bill 1035 contains the $1.50 per pack cigarette tax increase, a six-cent fuel tax increase, taxation of low point beer to be the same as strong beer, a restoration of the Earned Income Tax Credit, a $3,000 teacher pay raise and a $1,000 state employee raise. Meanwhile, House Speaker Charles McCall “guaranteed” a vote on a Gross Production Tax increase if House Democrats vote for the budget agreement.
