The House passed a measure Wednesday which would increase the gross production taxes on legacy oil and gas wells in an attempt to partially fill a $215 million budget gap. NonDoc’s William Savage III writes House Bill 1085X targets certain wells, but lawmakers are questioning whether this is how to fix budget issues lingering in the future amid pressure from a fractured oil and gas industry.
