Means Declares Intent to Run for House District 34

Dr. Aaron Means has declared he wants to replace Rep. Cory Williams as the Representative for House District 34.

Means is a retired a Captain from the United States Public Health Service, as well as a former Major in the United States Air Force, a general dentist, ordained minister, and author. Dr. Means served with distinction in two uniforms for this nation, The United States Public Health Service and the United States Air Force.

“I feel called to get involved, after seeing what has happened at the people’s Capitol over the past couple of years. When you hear the words ‘I’m not voting with my constituents’ on the house floor, it makes you wonder if the people there understand what they were elected in to do,” said Means.

Means continued, “I believe the people of this community want their voice to be heard. When I talk to people they feel disenfranchised with politics today. Voters understand more than the people in office give them credit for, the voters I have talked to are tired of being talked down to by politicians and want them to do what they were elected to do. We want a stronger education system, we want a budget that is not in crisis each and every year. And we want jobs to start coming to Oklahoma. It’s time to get to work.”

Means retired in July 2017 after serving as the director of Pawnee Indian Health Center dental clinic for 11 years. His career focused on serving the great citizens of multiple Native American tribes and the men and women of our United States Armed Forces.

Means is married to Shelia D. Means. She is an Advanced Practice Nurse and a retired USAF officer. She currently serves as the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at the Pawnee Indian Health Center. They have five children and three grandchildren. They attend  New Covenant Fellowship in Stillwater. Shelia and Aaron have assisted with children’s church, small groups ministry, Love and Respect Conferences for married couples and programs to assist people recovering from health problems.

Means is a Republican.
