When the filing period for the recently vacated House District 51 seat closed on Wednesday, three candidates signed up to replace Scott Biggs. Two Republicans and one Democrat are vying for the seat.
Marlow mayor Brad Boles will face Chickasha businessman Dustin Payne for the Republican nomination. The special election primary is set for January 8, 2018.
The winner of that race will face Democrat Charles Murdock of Marlow for the special general election scheduled for March 6, 2018.
