Political commentator and former Oklahoma City mayor Kirk Humphreys is apologizing for controversial remarks he made on KFOR’s Flashpoint this Sunday. Humphreys and guest commentator Rep. Emily Virgin were discussing recent sexual harassment and assault allegations among elected officials. He equated homosexuality with pedophilia.
The Oklahoman’s Tim Willert writes the comments caused several community organizations and civic leaders to react. Humphreys issued a statement saying that his statement on the show lacked clarity and he didn’t meant to equate homosexuality with pedophilia.
