Legal Battle Brews Over GPT Initiative Petition

The battle between oil and gas associations in Oklahoma has opened a new front in the courtroom as the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association has filed challenged to an initiative petition which would ask voters to raise gross production taxes to help fund education. OK Energy Today reports OIPA wants to stop the petition drive led by Restore Oklahoma Now. The challenge contends the language in State Question 795 is unclear and includes biased language to influence potential signatories.
