McCall Believes House Can Pass Step Up Plan

House Speaker Charles McCall believes he can muster enough Republican votes to pass the Step Up Oklahoma plan for tax increases, if the House Democrats can also deliver their caucus votes. The Oklahoman’s Randy Ellis writes Democratic leadership isn’t sure the votes are there and believes the plan needs some changes. The Step Up Oklahoma Plan is expected to be considered early in the Session which begins on Monday.

    Bait and switch has already happened, super fast: the reforms have effectively been taken out, leaving the extra taxes front and center. We need to fight this tooth and nail.
