Officials with the State Health Department are claiming former Chief Financial Officer Mike Romero has mischaracterized budget issue discussions in the latest twist to the financial mismanagement saga. The Oklahoman’s Meg Wingerter writes the Office of Management and Enterprise Services did not know about the Health Department’s financial woes until an audit was requested. Romero alleges OMES officials tried to cover up the issue before it came to the public’s attention.
