Election Day for SD 27, OKC Mayor’s Race

It’s election day for some voters in Oklahoma.

For those in Senate District 27 in western Oklahoma, voters will decide who to send to the Oklahoma Capitol. Republican Rep. Casey Murdock and Democrat Amber Jensen are facing off in this special general election to replace Senator Bryce Marlatt who resigned after being charged with sexual battery.

Oklahoma City voters will elect a new mayor. It is a non-partisan race between Senator David Holt, Taylor Neighbors and Randall Smith. If a candidate captures more than 50 percent of the vote, he or she will replace outgoing mayor Mick Cornett who is running for governor. If no one gets more than 50 percent, the top two will move on to an April 3 general election.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
