Holt Walks Away with OKC Mayor’s Race

No surprises in the race for Oklahoma City Mayor as Senator David Holt wins it all in overwhelming fashion. The Oklahoma State Election Board tally shows Holt had 79 percent of the vote. His closest competitor was Taylor Neighbors who had 13-percent. Randall Smith, who did not actively campaign, received eight percent.

Because Holt received more than 50 percent of the vote total, a mayoral general election is not necessary; he will be sworn in as Oklahoma City’s mayor on April 10. He will succeed Mayor Mike Cornett who is running for governor.
