Court of Civil Appeals Upholds Firing of DEQ Attorney Accused of Conspiring with Lawmaker

The Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals agreed with a lower court concerning the firing of former State Department of Environmental Quality attorney Mista Burgess. The Oklahoman’s Randy Ellis writes Burgess was accused of conspiring with then Rep. Don Arms and a fellow DEQ employee to cut the agency’s budget after being transferred to another department.
