Ezell Resigns as Health Dept Legal Counsel, Faces Felony Charges

In a shocking twist of events in the saga of the Oklahoma State Health Department and medical marijuana, Health Department legal counsel Julie Ezell resigned her position on Friday as felony charges were filed against her for alleged fake threats.

During the State Board of Health’s meeting to approve medical marijuana regulations last week, Ezell advised the Board against adopting last minute changes.

Now, Ezell is being prosecuted for allegedly setting up an email account to send death threats to herself over the adoption of medical marijuana rules.

Ezell was booked into the Oklahoma County jail Tuesday evening.

You can read Ezell’s resignation email to interim Health Commissioner Tom Bates and the probably cause affidavit below.

The Health Department is an absolute dumpster fire and has been for a long time. Lots of resignations and shenanigans…the only constant is the “Board”. If the Board has any self respect they should all resign in mass and lets start over!!!
