Lankford Meets with Kavanaugh

U.S. Senator James Lankford met with President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh on Thursday. If confirmed by the Senate, Kavanaugh will replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.

“It was a pleasure to meet with Judge Brett Kavanaugh in my office today. He is an impressive and qualified nominee to be considered for the Supreme Court. Our conversation focused on the separation of powers and the role of each branch of government, First and Fourth Amendment judicial precedent, and constitutional originalism. The Supreme Court has an obligation to act within the bounds of the Constitution and interpret the law as written. I look forward to reading through his many opinions, and I look forward to his confirmation hearings,” said Lankford in a statement after the Kavanaugh visit.
