Vision Fund State Question Placed on November Ballot

There are now five state questions voters will be asked to decide in November as Governor Fallin places State Question 800, the Vision Fund question, on the ballot.

If approved by voters, SQ 800 would create the Oklahoma Vision Fund and would divert at least five percent of the total collections of gross production taxes, the taxes assessed on oil and gas at the well head.

The Vision Fund would be used to support state government operations. It would allow no more than five percent to be used for service payments on bonds or other types of financing. Four percent of the average annual principal could be transferred to the General Revenue Fund that legislators use for appropriations.

State Question 800 was a request by the Legislature.
