Lankford Supports Trump Administration’s New National Cyber Strategy

The Trump Administration released its new National Cyber Strategy plan on Thursday. It gained the support of U.S. Senator James Lankford. The White House says this is the first time in 15 years that the U.S. has had a fully articulated cyber strategy. Part of the plan is to integrate cyber security into all elements of national power.

Lankford has been working in Congress to develop a plan to defend against cyber threats.

“It is good for the US to finally have a National Cyber Strategy in place to work to secure critical networks, effectively deter and respond to bad actors, and protect our economy while promoting a free and open internet,” said Lankford. “I thank the Administration for its work to put this strategy in place to protect the American people from future cyberattacks and threats. This has been a significant need for years.”

Lankford is a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
