U.S. Senator James Lankford took to the Senate floor on Thursday to call for reforms on the budget process and a pathway for tackling the country’s $21 trillion debt. Lankford is on the Joint Select Committee on Budget and Appropriations Process Reform. The Committee has been working on recommendations to add efficiency to the budget and appropriations process.
“I would pray that over Thanksgiving Members of this body and of the House determine that $21 trillion worth of debt needs significant reform, not just tweaks around the edges,” Lankford said during his speech.
